P&G names Jonnaert’s replacement

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has appointed a new communications director for Asia, to fill the duties of ex-VP of communications for the region, Erik Jonnaert.Jonnaert retired in October this year.Damon Jones (pictured) will now lead P&G's communications team of more than 100 professionals responsible for its reputation and brands across 14 markets in Asia, a spokesperson told Marketing. He will report to Hatsunori Kiriyama, president, P&G Asia.Prior to this role, Jones held a variety of global and regional leadership positions across multiple P&G categories.Most recently, he served as the global communications director for P&G's Global Shave Care and Braun businesses, where he was responsible for a broad spectrum of consumer, employee and executive communications for a product portfolio including Gillette, Old Spice, Braun, Venus and The Art of Shaving.He was also communications leader for P&G's largest European business from 2006 to 2009 and had oversight of all public affairs activities in the UK and Ireland.Jones also was the communications director for the 2008 Democratic National Convention as part of the campaign to elect US president Barack Obama.
