Permata Bank has renewed its partnership with Japan Airlines (JAL) to roll out the Permata Bank x Japan Airlines Travel Fair 2026, as Indonesian interest in overseas travel, particularly to Japan, continues to climb.
Data from the Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) shows that 558,900 Indonesian tourists visited Japan between January and November 2025, up 26.3% year on year. The growth underscores both Japan’s enduring appeal and rising demand for financial solutions that support travel planning and spending.
The first phase of the travel fair will take place from 15 to 18 January 2026 at Atrium 2, Lippo Mall Puri, West Jakarta, positioning itself as a one-stop platform for consumers and Permata Bank customers to plan holidays, access exclusive travel deals, and enjoy tailored payment options through the bank’s products.

Djumariah Tenteram, director of consumer banking at Permata Bank, said the initiative reflects the bank’s response to evolving lifestyle needs among its customers. “Through collaboration with trusted travel partners, we aim to make it easier for customers to plan their journeys while enjoying a transaction experience that is both seamless and rewarding,” she said.
During the event, customers can access a range of offers, including special Japan Airlines fares with discounts of up to IDR 14 million (US$830), comprising return ticket discounts of up to IDR 12 million (US$710) and travel fair cashback of up to IDR 2 million (US$120). Transactions made using Permata credit cards are eligible for 0% instalments of up to 12 months at participating travel agent booths.
Additional promotions include discounts of up to IDR 10 million (US$590) on travel packages, hotels, and theme park tickets when paid for with Permata credit cards, as well as airport shuttle limousine bus services from JAL for eligible customers.
Permata Bank and JAL have partnered with nine travel agencies for the fair: Antavaya, AviaTour, Bayu Buana, DwidayaTour, Golden Rama, Obaja Tour, Panorama JTB, Wita Tour, and HIS Tours and Travel. Supporting partners include JCB, Club Med, SOMPO, Samsonite, Bic Camera, JavaMifi, and several Japanese prefectures, forming a broader travel ecosystem for visitors.
JAL’s country manager, Ando Masato, welcomed the continued collaboration, pointing to Japan’s strong pull among Indonesian travellers. “Through our continued collaboration with Permata Bank since 2023, Japan Airlines is committed to consistently delivering flight experiences that are increasingly comfortable, high-quality, and valuable for our customers,” he said.
Beyond transaction offers, JAL is extending added benefits during the travel fair, including complimentary seat selection, increased baggage allowances, and free domestic connecting flights to selected Japanese cities.
Visitors can also qualify for top spender rewards and exclusive benefits for Permata Ultimate Card holders, such as 50% cashback on public transport using JCB Contactless, cashback at airport duty free outlets, and up to IDR 1 million (US$60) in cashback for offline transactions in Japan.
