Ooh Media has locked in more than 100 brands on its Sydney Metro digital network since its launch, with the transport line seeing a sharp increase in passenger numbers across key stations.
The outdoor operator, which won the Metro contract in 2023, said advertisers including Hermes, L’Oreal, Swarovski, Audible, Amazon, New Balance, Airtasker and Mazda have booked campaigns on the network, capitalising on premium CBD inventory and a 16% surge in peak commuter traffic.
The seven key stations across the Sydney Metro City and Southwest line – including Crows Nest, Victoria Cross, Barangaroo, Martin Place, Gadigal, Central and Waterloo – have seen strong growth in morning passenger volumes since November, according to data from Sydney Metro and Sydney Trains.
Ooh Media this week added a new large format screen at Gadigal Station, with another due in June. In total, the network will feature over 50 digital screens, including 20 large format sites and full motion 3D-enabled panels at the Martin Place integrated retail precinct.

“With Sydney Metro passenger numbers soaring, and new assets live in the Sydney CBD, the opportunity for brands to connect with urban audiences at scale has never been stronger,” Mark Fairhurst, chief revenue officer at Ooh Media, said.
“Demand for our Metro network has been exceptional, as advertisers look to capitalise on high-impact environments supported by deep data capabilities and flexible creative formats.”
Since the Metro line opened, over 36 million trips have been recorded.
The new Sydney Metro assets add to Ooh Media’s existing rail portfolio in Australia’s two largest cities. In Melbourne, the group also holds the long-term contract for the Metro Tunnel line, which is set to open later this year with five new stations and expanded retail and advertising opportunities.
“oOh! is uniquely positioned to help advertisers engage with commuters in Australia’s two largest cities,” Fairhurst added. “With Sydney Metro and Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel, our growing rail portfolio offers brands an unmatched platform to deliver relevant, high-impact campaigns from premium CBD locations to across key commercial, retail, and education precincts.”
