One Piece Café Indonesia brings Punk Hazard arc to life for fans

One Piece Café Indonesia has officially launched its latest theme, inspired by the Punk Hazard arc of the globally celebrated anime and manga series.

The opening was met with an enthusiastic response from fans - known as nakama - with long queues forming outside the café from the very first day. The concept highlights how experiential marketing continues to drive engagement in Indonesia’s growing pop culture economy.

Previously themed around Fish-Man Island, the café has now transformed its interiors into a meticulous recreation of Punk Hazard, an island defined by its contrasting extremes of ice and lava. Every corner has been reimagined to deliver a fully immersive fan experience.

“Each arc we present is always designed so visitors can truly feel like they are part of the One Piece world,” said Intan Pertama, general manager of One Piece Café Indonesia, as quoted by techverse.asia.

The café’s entrance has been transformed to resemble the gateway to the mysterious island of Punk Hazard. In the dining area, the Straw Hat crew are displayed in their winter costumes, the Marine area is filled with colourful posters of key characters, and in the Laboratory Bar, visitors are greeted by a standee of Caesar Clown, she explained.

The thematic transformation extends beyond décor to the menu. Dishes and drinks have been carefully designed to mirror iconic characters and story moments. Highlights include “Trafalgar Law’s Room Parfait”, which creatively references the character’s signature “Room” ability.

To complement the dining experience, the café is also offering limited-edition merchandise tied to the Punk Hazard arc. Only the first 500 online reservations will have access to exclusive items such as keychains, T-shirts, and miniature figurines of characters such as Trafalgar Law, Vergo, and Monet.

The Punk Hazard theme will run for six months, giving fans ample opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of One Piece. For the café, this rolling theme strategy is part of a long-term marketing play to sustain customer interest and deepen loyalty through novelty and scarcity.

By consistently refreshing its offerings, One Piece Café Indonesia is positioning itself not just as a place to eat, but as a cultural hub for fans. One Piece Café in Indonesia officially opened to the public in November 2024, at Senayan Park, Jakarta. The café is the first in Asia and serves as the official flagship store of TOEI Animation, the studio behind One Piece.
