ONE Championship hires Lazada's Hari Vijayarajan as new business development chief

ONE Championship has hired Hari Vijayarajan (pictured) as its new chief business development officer. In his role, Vijayarajan will be responsible for driving key strategic initiatives and new businesses, helping to increase ONE Championship’s scalability and growth across all key markets. He will officially commence his new role with ONE in January 2019.CEO and chairman Chatri Sityodtong said that Vijayarajan will be working alongside him and the rest of the leadership team to drive key strategic initiatives and new businesses. "Bar none, ONE Championship now has Asia's most seasoned and experienced leadership team in the entire sports media industry. These are definitely exciting times and I look forward to working with Vijayarajan in making ONE Championship the global leader in sports and entertainment," he added.Vijayarajan was previously the chief business officer in Lazada Group Singapore and a part of the senior leadership team. Prior to that, he was Lazada's executive vice president, onboarding and negotiating with some of the world’s largest brands like Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi. He was also the regional category leader of electronics in which he held the role for over two years.He has over 15 years of experience in the technology, consulting, and eCommerce industries, with extensive global experience across the United States, Asia Pacific, Japan, and China.He also spent two years as Amazon, handling strategic partnerships with key vendors, growing retail selection, revenue and profitability, improving product discoverability, and driving operational efficiency as he said on his LinkedIn profile. He started as a manager of vendor management back in 2013, leading the team in Amazon's partnerships with companies such as Microsoft, Google and Apple among others. He was mainly based in Seattle during his time at Amazon.Marketing has reached out to Lazada for comment.
