Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has appointed Bharat Khatri as chief digital officer for its operations across APAC. With over a decade of experience under his belt, Khatri is tasked with leading digital marketing capabilities, productisation and governance efforts for the network in this region.

A strategic digital marketer with more than a decade of experience across digital and sales domains, Khatri was previously the country head for Xaxis in India, where he oversaw programmatic capabilities and collaborated with over 150 active advertisers across multiple industries.

In his new role, Khatri will partner with OMG leaders in APAC to accelerate the adoption of integrated digital strategy, with a focus on leveraging technology to drive efficiency and creativity at scale across digital channels. With India’s reputation as a thriving IT hub and home to some of the world’s most powerful and cutting-edge companies, Khatri will be based in India and reports into Paul Shepherd, chief investment officer for OMG APAC.

“Khatri has a stellar track record in the world of digital and possess a unique ability in converting digital complexities into solutions,” said Shepherd. “With digital disruption only increasing and the world of identity getting more complex, Khatri’s experience in driving actionable and measurable solutions will be a key asset in unlocking advantages for our clients,” he added.

“I am incredibly thrilled and honoured to join Omnicom Media Group at this pivotal time while our industry goes through a massive shift to more fragmented, privacy first & precision second eco-system,” said Khatri. “OMG’s strong roots in analytics and big appetite for innovation are key assets for the next phase of digital transformation, and I feel privileged to be part of this growth and transformation journey in the region,” he added.

Last year Omnicom Media Group (OMG) also launched its end-to-end commerce practice, Transact, in Asia Pacific to help brands pivot their business by improving their digital availability as well as focusing on new retail opportunities and eCommerce channels.

Headquartered in Singapore, Transact is backed by eCommerce consultants and omni-channel retail specialists in 25 markets. It is also supported by dedicated teams across the region based in Singapore, China, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, India, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Transact will consult on areas spanning commerce strategy, media, marketplace investment as well as store management (Lazada, Amazon, TMALL, JD.com and Shoppee, D2C and eRetail) that includes content and merchandising. It leverages Omni, OMG's people-based precision marketing and insights platform, to help power a seamless commerce business solution. According to its website, Starbucks, Merisant, and SEAT are among the list of clients that Transact works with globally.
