Ogilvy Public Relations has appointed Michelle Ang as the agency’s new talent director in Singapore. Ang will lead the firm’s talent initiatives to attract, engage, reward and retain the talent that will define the future of the public relations industry.
As hiring has become increasingly challenging across all sectors in Singapore, the agency is keen to address the talent crunch and employee disengagement issues facing the industry. Ang’s appointment signals the intention of managing director, Chong Ee Rong, to put people at the heart of the agency’s focus for 2014.
Ang plans to focus on two areas primarily. First, she plans to engage and grow current employees so they can effectively participate in the ever-changing landscape, and second, to bring in new quality employees.
Chong said: “This appointment is testament that at Ogilvy PR, we put talent and the development of our people first. There is no one better I can think of than Michelle who has such passion and spirit, to spearhead this new initiative for the agency.”
Ang first joined Ogilvy in 2006 following a noteworthy career in journalism with Singapore Press Holdings and MediaCorp. She will also continue in her role as director of the award-winning Ogilvy Impact, the agency’s practice specialising in employee engagement, leadership communication and change communication.
Ang’s position is effectively immediately.
