Nordstrom has discontinued selling Ivanka Trump's, daughter of Donald Trump, branded line of clothing and shoes.
In a statement with several media outlets, the company said the move was based solely on "performance". The company stated that it has over 2000 brands offered on the site alone, and each year the company review its merits and makes 'edits'.
"Each year we cut about 10% and refresh our assortment with about the same amount. In this case, based on the brand's performance we've decided not to buy it for this season," the statement read.
However, this move did not go down too well with Donald Trump. Expressing his displeasure over this move, Trump lashed out at the company on Twitter.
My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!

However, many netizens seemed to side with the brand saying that drop in sales is a viable reason to part ways.
Moreover, Nordstrom is not the only company which has dropped the brand. According to publication Business Insider, Neiman Marcus also followed suit and dropped Ivanka Trump's jewellery collection from its stores and website.
Recently, sporting brand, New Balance displayed its support for the new POTUS and ran into trouble as well. As a result of this support, consumers were seen sharing videos and pictures of themselves burning their New Balance shoes.
