Following a pitching process, camera maker Nikon Singapore has appointed Hill+Knowlton Strategies to drive its regional public relations content strategy for the brand.
H+K Strategies will handle both product and non-product content development, PR content analysis and strategy and regional media relations for the brand. The retainer partnership will target photographic and technology trade media, as well as business and finance media, online influencers and lifestyle publications.
H+K Strategies’ appointment follows a lead-in period during which the agency was providing Nikon with content to support product launches on a project basis and partnering with JWT, which is Nikon Singapore’s creative agency since 2009.
Garland Mak, deputy general manager, international marketing division at Nikon Singapore said, “H+K Strategies brought a compelling approach to Nikon’s regional PR, aided by synergies the company is able to tap through its group relationship with JWT. We are excited to be deepening our partnership with WPP through the H+K Strategies award, and we look forward to broadening our brand footprint and share of voice around the region as a result.”
Jamie Morse, managing director of H+K Strategies Singapore added, “Our work with Nikon will centre around content development, building on a growing service offering we are providing clients – the ‘brands as publishers’ approach. Working closely with JWT both agencies are able to drive stronger consistencies, economies of scale and build greater creativity into the content wecreate for Nikon across paid, shared, and now owned and earned media. It’s a truly exciting time for everyone involved.”
Meanwhile, Maxus Singapore under WPP’s Group M division handles Nikon’s media buying duties.
