Singapore - Focusing on its presence across Asian markets, PayPal has appointed Rohan Mahadevan as vice president for the region with immediate effect.
In his new role, Mahavan will be in charge of providing strategic direction for the company, including strategic marketing duties, and will look to increase PayPal's presence and capabilities in e-commerce and m-commerce in Asia.
Prior to his promotion, he held the role of vice president of Global Cross Border Trade and of the Latin American ops.
Mahavan will report to Rupert Keeley, senior vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific.
"Rohan's deep knowledge of PayPal's products and capabilities will be invaluable as we deliver on our vision to enable secure payment anytime, anywhere and any way for millions of Asian consumers through PayPal's innovative online and mobile commerce services," Keeley said.
Recently, the company expanded Keeley's role to include the EMEA region, on top of his APAC remit. He will be based in Singapore and report to David Marcus, president of PayPal.
