As the Hawkins gang prepares for their final showdown against Vecna in Stranger Things 5, Netflix is inviting Malaysian fans to join "one last adventure" in Kuala Lumpur from 27 to 30 November. The immersive activation is part of a global series of fan events taking place across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania, with Southeast Asian stops in Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Manila.

Exclusive to Malaysia, the "Stranger rides" experience lets fans hop aboard beca (trishaws) decked out with nostalgic nods to 1980s Hawkins and California, as well as encounters with monsters from the Upside Down.

Beyond the rides, the surrounding venue transforms into a hub of interactive activities, including arcade challenges inspired by Mad Max, Demogorgon-themed puzzles, and Stranger Things-inspired food trucks. Fans can complete an activity passport by collecting stamps across checkpoints to score exclusive series merchandise, while supplies last.

The event takes place at Daily Dose Coffee, Bangunan Getah Asli (Menara), Jalan Ampang, Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur. Sessions run from 9pm to 11pm on 27 November, and 6pm to 11pm from 28 to 30 November. Tickets for the Stranger Rides can be pre-booked via a unique microsite.

Upon visiting StrangerRides.my, visitors are welcomed by a landing page inviting them to join the fan event celebrating the final season of Stranger Things, featuring a nostalgic ride through the streets of Kuala Lumpur. Clicking on "Book your Stranger Ride here" leads fans to a short quiz, which must be completed before they can pre-book their spot for the experience.

The "One last adventure" global fan event promises to be a fitting send-off for fans to celebrate the cult-favourite show in both real and virtual worlds. The activations coincide with the release of Stranger Things 5, which will premiere across three volumes: Volume 1 on 27 November, Volume 2 on 26 December, and the series finale on 1 January 2026.

Over in Thailand, Netflix has launched a rewatch campaign with a nostalgic twist: a recap of past Stranger Things seasons that audiences can listen to, rather than watch. Created in collaboration with VML Thailand, the "Stranger Things recap cassette", delivers an immersive, 1980s-inspired sound experience that retells all four seasons entirely through audio. Listeners would be able to hear the crackle of tape, the hum of streetlights, laughter echoing through walkie-talkies, and the iconic synths signalling that the Upside Down is near.

Netflix has also previously wowed Malaysian audiences with immersive experiences for series such as Squid Game and Wednesday. Over the weekend of 27 to 29 June, "Squid Game: The exhibit" transformed LaLaport Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur into an immersive arena where over 8,000 visitors relived key moments from all three seasons of the hit series, reimagined through the lens of Malaysian culture.

And for the release of Wednesday Season 2, fans of the hit series were able to step into a gothic school-themed pop-up event at Sunway Pyramid, transformed into the “Nevermore Academy: Malaysia campus”. The experience invited both “Outcasts” and “Normies” to undergo orientation at the fictional academy, complete with themed rooms and cryptic activities.

Netflix Malaysia also gave the beloved gothic Addams clan a local twist, transforming the iconic family into a cheeky Malay short film dubbed the “Adam’s Family". Excitement for the season's release was drummed up further with a bold activation that blends on-ground engagement with social buzz, with larger-than-life, mobile version of Thing, dubbed the "Thingmobile", scuttling its way around the Klang Valley.
