Netflix Malaysia is drumming up excitement for Wednesday Season 2 with a campaign that puts the spotlight squarely on a fan-favourite character — Thing.

In a bold activation that blends on-ground engagement with social buzz, Netflix has launched a larger-than-life, mobile version of Thing, dubbed the "Thingmobile", scuttling its way around the Klang Valley.

From now until 10 August, fans might catch a glimpse of the eerie, lifelike appendage lounging under the sun or creeping past familiar hotspots, all from the back of a striking promotional truck.

Netflix Malaysia calls it the “Biggest moving Thing” to ever hit local streets, with the finger-forward stunt drawing attention both offline and online. Footage of the Thingmobile making its way through Kuala Lumpur has already been featured on Netflix Malaysia’s social platforms, further fuelling intrigue and sightings from curious fans.

By anchoring the campaign around a character beloved for its quirky personality and silent expressiveness, Netflix Malaysia taps into the show’s cult following while delivering a shareable, on-the-ground spectacle that captures the imagination, one scuttling hand at a time.

The mobile stunt complements the Wednesday pop-up event currently held at Sunway Pyramid, where fans can step into the gothic world of the series through immersive experiences. Dubbed “Nevermore Academy: Malaysia campus”, the gothic school-themed activation brought the spooky corridors of Wednesday's Nevermore Academy to life.

The activation which runs until 17 August, arrives ahead of Wednesday Season 2’s premiere on 6 August (Part 1) and 3 September (Part 2), and follows in the footsteps of previous Netflix Malaysia stunts, including its highly talked-about Squid Game–themed experiences.

Attendees are able to explore the eerie Nightshade Library, try their hands at alchemy and elemental botany, and unravel puzzles in Wednesday and Enid’s dorm. Completing all checkpoints will earn visitors a mysterious prize, available in limited quantities each day.
