Nescafé’s sensor bench brings people closer

Technology has made communication easier, but communication among people seems to be lesser and lesser, especially in this phubbing era. In this sense, Nescafé decided to utilise technology to break the invisible wall among people.Named “Hello Bench”, the coffee brand has invented a sensor-driven red bench and put in on the street, allowing passersby to sit down and enjoy a coffee. The normal-looking bench will get shorter when two people sit on it, bringing two strangers closer and getting to know each other. The brand said the invention aims to “start shortening the distances, spark a real connection”.The bench first exhibited during the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
