MRT Jakarta has expanded its digital payment ecosystem with the launch of a new ticketing option in collaboration with Finture Tech Indonesia (Yup). The partnership enables commuters to pay for MRT tickets via Yup’s integrated digital credit service.

The launch event, held at Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station on 24 October 2025, was attended by Farchad Mahfud, director of business development at MRT Jakarta, and Elok Wahyuni, president of Yup.

“This collaboration is a concrete step in realising MRT Jakarta’s commitment to continuously provide an efficient and modern mobility experience for all users. Through the payment methods offered by Yup, transactions can now be carried out more quickly, easily, and securely,” Mahfud said during the event, highlighting MRT Jakarta’s commitment to modern, efficient, and inclusive urban mobility and supporting Jakarta’s Smart City vision.

Echoing this sentiment, Wahyuni emphasised the convenience and safety of the new service, noting, “The integration of payment options provided by Yup within the MyMRTJ app allows users to purchase MRT tickets without needing to top up their balance first. MRT users can choose the ‘paylater’ option, a practical and secure digital credit product from Yup.”

Beyond ticket payments, the Yup app can also be used at various retail outlets around MRT Jakarta stations. To mark the launch, MRT Jakarta and Yup have introduced a special promotion offering new users a chance to ride the MRT for free for one week when using the digital credit payment option. The promotion is valid across all MRT Jakarta routes for the duration of the campaign.

By expanding digital payment options, MRT Jakarta aims to simplify access to public transport and encourage the use of cashless and credit-based solutions for urban mobility. In Indonesia, cashless transport options include payments via e-money cards (BRIZZI, TapCash, Flazz), digital wallets through apps such as Gojek and Grab, and mobile banking apps with QR or digital payment integration.

Launched in 2021 by Finture Tech Indonesia, Yup entered the market as a digital finance solution offering both paylater services and digital credit cards. Since its inception, Finture has been officially registered with Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK), providing regulatory assurance for users seeking practical and secure digital payment options.
