Malaysian home improvement retailer MR D.I.Y. is pulling out all the stops for its 20th anniversary with a large-scale concert at Stadium Merdeka, doubling down on its customer-first brand promise through an experiential campaign aimed at celebrating loyal fans across the country.
Set to take place on 11 July 2025, the “MR D.I.Y. 20th anniversary concert” will feature a star-studded lineup including Mandopop star Penny Tai, rock icons Ella, Awie, and Amy Search, vocal powerhouses Jaclyn Victor and Shila Amzah, pop trio 3P, and rising talent Jeryl Lee.
Alongside live music, the one-night-only event will offer a festival-style experience complete with laser light shows, fireworks, interactive games, photo booths, and F&B zones.

In conversation with A+M, MR D.I.Y. Group's vice president of marketing, Alex Goh said the anniversary concert was driven by a desire to celebrate the milestone with both its employees and customers.
"The concert felt like the perfect way to say thank you. It’s something fun, exciting, and meaningful that we can all enjoy together. After 20 years of growing with Malaysians, we wanted to give back with a shared experience,” he said.
From a single outlet in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman to a retail giant with 1,400 stores, MR D.I.Y.'s growth story is at the heart of its anniversary messaging. “What’s even more special is that throughout all that growth, we’ve stayed true to our promise of 'Always low prices'. That consistency is what built our relationship with customers,” Goh added.
To bring more customers into the celebration, the brand has launched a concert ticket redemption programme tied to in-store purchases. Starting 31 May, customers who spend a minimum of RM40 in a single receipt at any MR D.I.Y. outlet can scan an in-store QR code to submit their receipt. The first 3,000 successful submissions will receive two concert tickets each.
Starting off as a homegrown Malaysian brand, MR D.I.Y. now has stores in countries such as Thailand, Brunei, Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Turkey, Spain and Singapore.
Just this week, MR D.I.Y.'s new deputy general manager of global new country expansion, Brendy Mah shared on LinkedIn that the retailer is due to open its very first store in South Africa soon. "From household and hardware to toys, beauty, and more, we’re ready to deliver more choice, more savings to South African families," said Mah.
Additionally in March, MR D.I.Y. Indonesia marked a major milestone with its 1,000th store, strengthening its push for household retail dominance. The store, located in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi, is expected to not only enhance retail accessibility for customers but also contribute to local economies by creating employment opportunities.
