MOONTON Games levels up Golden Month footprint through strategic OPPO alliance

MOONTON Games has launched the 2026 Golden Month for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), positioning the annual celebration as its highest-value in-game reward period to date – and significantly expanding its global footprint in the process.
Kicking off on 17 February and running until 2 April, Golden Month invites players to log in from day one to unlock progressive rewards through a series of in-game tasks. At the centre of this year’s campaign is a large-scale device giveaway delivered in collaboration with global smartphone brand OPPO, with 10,000 premium smartphones to be distributed across 11 regions.
The participating markets this year include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand, Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), India, Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, and Peru. The expanded footprint marks a significant leap from 2025, when the initiative covered four countries – Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore – underscoring MLBB’s growing global player base and ambitions beyond Southeast Asia.

“Golden Month reflects the spirit of giving and generosity that defines this year’s campaign. As a mobile-first game, MLBB is designed to be accessible anytime and anywhere, and initiatives like this help us further bring the experience to more players globally. As our community continues to grow, we remain focused on creating meaningful moments of celebration, gameplay, and connection for players worldwide,” said Joe Jiang, game publishing marketing director at MOONTON Games.
Beyond the device giveaway, Golden Month’s Dazzling Golden Spin unlocks a slate of premium in-game content, including new Eternal Season Series skins such as Miya Arrow of Springs and Floryn “Herald of Autumn”.
Players can also obtain the much-anticipated Hanabi Twin Skins – Hanabi “Twin Crescent” and Hanabi “Neonscape Icon” – free during the campaign period, reinforcing the event’s positioning as the most rewarding seasonal moment on MLBB’s calendar.
This year’s edition also improves accessibility. Unlike last year’s month-long activation with a limited five-hour daily event window, Golden Month 2026 runs continuously for over six weeks, widening participation opportunities across time zones and markets.
Players can pre-register directly via the MLBB app and earn additional Spin Coins and Keys by sharing campaign materials on social media – an approach that integrates organic community amplification into the mechanics of gameplay.

Strategically, Golden Month reflects MLBB’s hybrid global-local marketing model. While the campaign rolls out at scale, activations are tailored to local cultural moments and community touchpoints, with influencers and creators driving engagement through livestreams and region-specific content.
In the previous edition, MLBB embedded culturally resonant initiatives in Southeast Asia. In Indonesia and Malaysia, players had the chance to win sponsored Umrah trips during Ramadan and Hari Raya. In Indonesia, the publisher supported 100 underprivileged children with essential supplies and Iftar meals, alongside a charity livestream hosted by prominent MLBB creators that raised approximately US$15,000 for orphans in Jakarta. In Malaysia, livestream collaborations with local personalities such as Chef Wan and Aliff Erfan rewarded players while encouraging shared in-game experiences among friends and families.
The 2026 campaign continues this momentum, reinforcing Golden Month as both a high-engagement gaming activation and a broader community-building platform.
Golden Month 2026 also extends beyond in-game mechanics into structured eSports development. As part of the broader collaboration between MOONTON Games and OPPO, the OPPO Hyper Legend Cup x MLBB Campus Series has opened registrations across Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
The collegiate-focused tournament signals a strategic evolution from grassroots competition to a more formalised campus ecosystem, offering national qualifiers, national finals and cross-national finals – culminating in a regional showdown in Kuala Lumpur in April.
Together, the in-game celebration and campus tournament underscore MLBB’s broader strategy: leveraging large-scale seasonal moments to deepen player loyalty, expand device accessibility, and build sustainable eSports pathways across Southeast Asia and beyond.
