Indochine Media Ventures (IMV) will be taking over the licence of Esquire Singapore from Mongoose Publishing, effective 1 November 2017. This comes after Time Out Group revealed plans to take over the direct management of Time Out Singapore from licensing partner Mongoose, as well as the departure of Mongoose's CEO Patrick Brennan.
In a statement to Marketing, a spokesperson for IMV said that Esquire is an ideal addition to the company's existing portfolio and the iconic brand is a perfect fit with magazines such as Robb Report and Buro 24/7. The spokesperson added that Esquire will broaden IMV's reach and audience, as well as substantially increase its market share. The magazine will be fully integrated into IMV's marketing efforts to reach out to its online and offline readers and subscribers.
IMV intends to invest in the editorial quality of Esquire, increase marketing efforts and exploiting synergies with Robb Report, Luxury Guide and Buro 24/7. There will also be a strong focus on digital for Esquire, particularly on mobile.
“Esquire Singapore is a great addition to the IMV portfolio. Mongoose has created a strong and successful brand in Singapore and we look forward to continuing to the brand to even greater heights," Michael von Schlippe (pictured), president of IMV, said.
“Esquire Singapore has been an excellent part of our portfolio. I’m really proud of the award-winning publication and the fantastic team. We have achieved everything we set out to with Esquire Singapore. It is time to let another publisher take the reins and IMV is the perfect fit with its focus on luxury publications," Graham Paling, executive chairman of Mongoose Publishing, said.
