Mondelēz China and Alibaba Group has signed a strategic partnership at Mondelēz China’s headquarter in Shanghai.
At the signing ceremony, Mondelēz China’s president Stephen Maher and Alibaba Group’s vice president Jing Jie also showcased the Oreo colour-filled pack, exclusively designed for Alibaba’s B2C e-commerce platform Tmall in China.
Oreo colour-filled pack is a promotion designed exclusively for Tmall, and aims to create a brand new e-commerce shopping experience. Starting this May on Tmall, consumers across China will be able to choose a color and design their own Oreo packaging.
This strategic partnership will fully synchronise Mondelēz China and Alibaba Group’s advantages and resources to provide consumers with higher quality and more convenient services. The two companies will invest in e-commerce media platform, sales channel, distribution channel and innovations.
Stephen Maher, president of Mondelēz China said the collaboration will allow both parties to tap the trends of China’s consumption-driven economy and e-commerce.
Jing Jie, vice president of Alibaba Group, said: “We look forward to helping Mondelēz fully tap into our digital media ecosystem and technology infrastructure to successfully build their brands and effectively reach the Chinese consumer.”
