As the Philippines' logistics industry navigates the transition to sustainable operations, Mober has introduced Central Charge, the country's largest commercial EV charging hub.

Located along D. Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City, the 3,000-square-meter facility is designed to support Mober's fleet of e-vans and e-trucks, featuring 56 charging ports and a three-shift system capable of handling up to 200 EV trucks daily.

Unlike standard public EV stations, Central Charge is purpose-built for logistics operations. It is equipped with 50 7kW DC chargers and two 60kWh fast-charging units, aimed at reducing vehicle downtime and improving operational efficiency. The facility's proximity to Metro Manila's key commercial areas supports last-mile deliveries for companies such as IKEA, Nestlé Philippines, and Maersk.

Mober founder and CEO Dennis Ng (pictured) highlighted the role of infrastructure in addressing challenges associated with electrification. "At Mober, we've been committed to finding solutions to infrastructure challenges since our transition to EVs in 2021. Central Charge demonstrates our vision to pave the way for a cleaner, more efficient future for our clients and solidify the Philippines' place at the forefront of sustainable logistics in Southeast Asia," he said.

The new hub follows Mober's first charging facility, established in 2023 in Zamora Street, Pasay City, which covered 800 square meters with 30 charging units.

Looking ahead, Mober is considering additional measures to enhance sustainability, including the integration of solar photovoltaic panels and a 500 kWh battery energy storage system at Central Charge. These upgrades, currently under evaluation, could further reduce the company's carbon footprint and support its expansion goals of scaling to over 500 EVs by 2026.

"Central Charge is not just an infrastructure investment, but it's a strategic step to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly delivery solutions while maintaining our zero-emission commitment," Ng added.

The initiative comes as part of a broader shift in the logistics industry toward compliance with the Electric Vehicles and Charging Systems Act, which encourages the adoption of cleaner energy solutions.

Mober, founded in 2015, has been developing solutions to help businesses transition to low-emission logistics. As Southeast Asia's largest EV delivery operator, the company continues to explore strategies that balance sustainability with operational efficiency.
