Mindshare Hong Kong has appointed Winston Tai as its head of growth, effective 26 September 2022. In this new role, Tai will be responsible for the agency’s business growth strategy and its implementation to help drive good growth for its people, clients and the community.

Previously head of marketing effectiveness at HSBC, Tai led the data-driven marketing performance transformation agenda in 17 markets across Asia-Pacific, and took a central role in the measurement and optimisation framework. Tai brings over 17 years of experience in media and marketing, of which seven years were spent at Mindshare and three at HSBC.

Commenting on Tai’s appointment, Irene Tsui, managing director of Mindshare Hong Kong, said, “Media agency nowadays is very much an integral part of our client’s business, helping to drive direct performance and growth of a business via integrating data, technology and media.  I am thrilled to have Winston re-joining Mindshare as Head of Growth, a new position created to further our ambition to be the growth partner for our clients.”

Tai said: “I'm really excited to re-join Mindshare, which I always consider as my second home. I hope my experience on driving data-driven business growth in both agency and client side can help to discover growth opportunities and add value for my clients and our industry.”

Previously in mid-September, food and grocery delivery platforms foodpanda has appointed Mindshare as its agency of record in Hong Kong. The appointment is effective from the second quarter in 2022.

foodpanda has tasked Mindshare with managing its holistic media strategy, buying and planning duties, as well as its data analytics and audience insights.

Back in July this year, Mindshare has beefed up its leadership team in Asia by elevated Shankar Rajagopal (pictured), CEO of Mindshare and m/SIX Vietnam, to chief client officer of Mindshare APAC. In his new role which he will assume on 12 July, he will be relocated to Mindshare's regional headquarters in Singapore, from Ho Chi Minh City, where he has been based for over four years.

Taking over the reins in Vietnam is Ashish Thukral (pictured centre), who is now MD of Mindshare and m/SIX. Thukral will relocate from Singapore. In this role, he works closely with clients to deliver their growth agenda by navigating the ever-expanding and complex data-driven world of media. According to Mindshare, Thukral believes in winning by investing in people’s training and developmental needs as well as deploying new and relevant tools and systems to help clients continuously differentiate themselves in the marketplace.
