Mike Amour exits Starcom MediaVest Group

Mike Amour, APAC president of Starcom MediaVest Group is set to leave the company. He joined the team in January last year.  According to the agency, he plans to take a break over the coming months in order to spend more time with his family.Prior to the role he was APAC CEO of Project: Worldwide for over four years.He also held various stints with Grey as both chairman and CEO of APAC and executive vice president Worldwide, executive client services director of Grey Group.His announcement follows the exit of industry heavy-weight Jeff Seah who also left the role in May this year. Seah exited the role after seven years as regional CEO. Meanwhile earlier this month, Ranga Somanathan also left the company to join OMD.Gerry Boyle, CEO Publicis Media APAC said: “Amour made a significant contribution to Starcom Mediavest’s business in APAC over the past 18 months, including helping win new global assignments as well as delivering solid revenue growth and profits in his region. We wish Mike the very best with his next chapter.”Amour (pictured) added: “Crossing over to the media side of our business has been invaluable, having previously been attached to some of the world’s  top creative and experiential agencies. It has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing clients, as well as the broader industry. I wish Gerry and the team at Publicis Media well with the new organisation.”Last month, following the massive restructure of the Publicis Groupe, APAC practice leads were also announced. The new appointment sees former Zenith Optimedia CIO Harpreet Kaintel taking up a leadership role for analytics and insights for the group. Meanwhile Rajesh Mahtani, head of growth and strategy at Starcom MediaVest Group will now take up the role of business development & communications lead.
