Metro Retail Stores Group (MRSGI) has launched its first Mareng EMS Caravan in Mandaue City, bringing sari-sari store owners, resellers and brand partners together as it looks to strengthen support for MSMEs.

Held at The Tent, Mandani Bay, the gathering provided business operators with a platform to connect with participating brands and retail partners, while gaining access to exclusive offers and member benefits.

Mareng EMS, short for Enterprising Metro Suki, is Metro Retail’s business-focused programme for customers who purchase products for resale. Members can access exclusive offers and discounts, tailored rewards and negosyo tips to help them manage and grow their businesses.

Speaking at the caravan, Joselito Orense, president and COO of MRSGI, said the initiative was intended to recognise entrepreneurs’ ambitions to grow their businesses and provide for their families.

“The Mareng EMS Caravan is more than just a gathering. It is a celebration of the hardworking entrepreneurs who share one dream - to grow their businesses, provide better for their families, and build a better future,” he said.

“EMS stands for ‘Enterprising Metro Suki,’ but for us, EMS also represents an aspiration: EMS for ‘Every Member Sumakses or Sasakses’. It is more than a name. It is our promise. At Metro, we believe that success should not be enjoyed by only a few. We want every Mareng Ems to succeed.”

The event featured product showcases, promotional activities, interactive games and an event passport activity designed to encourage members to engage with participating retail partners. Qualified MBC members also received goodie bags containing product samples and other items from participating brands.

The initiative reflects Metro Retail’s efforts to build closer relationships with business customers and better understand the needs of entrepreneurs who rely on its stores to source goods for resale.

Through Mareng EMS, the retailer aims to support local entrepreneurs through reliable access to supplies, practical business education and longer-term commercial partnerships.
