Mediacorp has launched a new CNA938 radio station, replacing 938NOW which underwent a rebranding in 2017 from 938LIVE. This comes months after Channel NewsAsia rebranded to CNA to “embrace a new transmedia and multiplatform” identity.CNA938 will feature breaking news, current affairs, business and financial news, and trends on health, lifestyle, travel, entertainment, and technology. The new radio station aims to maximise the synergy between radio, TV and online by sharing resources, showcasing journalism and providing multiple platforms for news makers. Mediacorp's spokesperson told Marketing that the content for the new radio station will be curated and delivered by veteran presenters and programmers. Among the list of presenters at the station include Arnold Gay, Yasmin Yonkers, Lance Alexander, Melanie Oliverio, Eugene Loh, Keith de Souza and Daniel Martin.Meanwhile, CNA also reported that journalists and editors will also be working with the radio station for wider breadth of new coverage for its audiences. Extending its reach, the radio station will cover breaking news as well as analysis breakdowns of events in Singapore, Asia and other countries.During CNA’s 20th anniversary back in April, Mediacorp chairman Niam Chiang Meng said CNA has been working towards transforming itself into a transmedia company, available on every platform that the public is using. He also briefly said some of the other initiatives include “CNA Talk”, which is an improvement upon the existing 938NOW, its live talk-show format. According to Niam, CNA Talk will assign an avenue for two-way audio dialogue with its audiences.
