Rupert McPetrie has been named CEO Greater China for MediaCom.
Currently CEO China, McPetrie's new role will begin in January 2021, expanding his oversight to the MediaCom Hong Kong and MediaCom Taiwan markets. While his main working base will remain in Shanghai, McPetrie will relocate to Hong Kong as a part of the new role.
“Rupert has been a great contributor to the broader MediaCom business, always collaborative and open-minded, which has certainly helped cement China as one of the strongest pillars of our global network. I would also like to acknowledge and call out the outstanding job Alice Chow and Nicky Huang, our Hong Kong and Taiwan leaders have done and continue to do in driving their businesses forward over recent years. They’ve also welcomed many new clients, been recognised with awards and enhanced our reputation within their respective markets. I have no doubt they will relish the opportunity to work more frequently with Rupert and together take things to new levels," said Mark Heap, CEO MediaCom APAC.
"I am delighted to extend my remit to include Hong Kong and Taiwan," added McPetrie.
"Our businesses there are strong, and I will work to support our growth, finding synergies and best practice, leveraging our expertise to create more value for our clients, and provide further opportunity for our businesses and our people."
