MediaCom China has appointed Gordon Domlija as chief strategy officer, based in Shanghai.
In the new role, Domlija will be responsible for development of strategic services and products at three China offices including Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.
Domlija will also take on leadership of Communications Planning, Digital, MediaCom Beyond Advertising and Business Science disciplines, reporting to Michael Zhang, president of MediaCom China.
“As the requirement for specialisms has increased, we believe it’s critical to have somebody who can see across multiple disciplines to ensure that our end product is well integrated and the work we do remains market leading, bringing a new level of excellence to all MediaCom China clients," said Zhang.
He added Gordon’s rare blend of international experience and rich knowledge on brand and business building in China can bring progressive vision of how the industry needs to evolve to meet marketers’ needs.
Domlija has 17 years of experience in the advertising and media industry starting his career in London before moving to China in 2008.
He joins MediaCom China from MindShare Shanghai as managing director, an agency also under the GroupM family, where he worked with clients such as L'Oréal, Nike, Jaguar, Land Rover, Kimberly Clark, Volvo, Zegna and Rolex.
