Media Publishares, home to Esquire, Robb Report and Vogue Singapore, has promoted Natasha Damodaran (pictured) to managing director, and Alexander Trefilov to chief operating officer. Both will be reporting to president Michael von Schlippe in the Singapore office in these newly created roles.

In her previous role as marketing director, Damodaran played an instrumental role in the launch of Esquire and Vogue Singapore, while simultaneously leading partnerships, marketing, communications and events. Since August 2021, with the launch of Vogue’s September NFT collection, she has been spearheading the implementation of NFT strategies and metaverse related activities for Esquire, Robb Report and Vogue Singapore.

Damodaran has been with Media Publishares since 2016, and has been involved in all parts of scaling the business in Singapore, showing skills and accomplishments across management and commercial sides of the business. Additionally, she is experienced in both print and digital media, noted for her “sharp eye for editorial quality” said von Schlippe.

As managing director, Damodaran will work across all divisions in the Singapore office in a dynamic role that oversees many aspects, such as publishing and marketing. In her new role, Damodaran aims to “grow the print, digital, social and Web3 offerings within Media Publishares’ current portfolio, while working alongside leading creative and editorial teams "to bring world-class content to readers".

Damodaran added, “With the strength of the brands and the breadth of talent that we have, there are tremendous opportunities ahead.”

Trefilov has 17 years of international media experience, having previously worked in Partners Media Group, Kazakhstan and most recently serving as the general manager of Media Publishares’s Philippine office. Trefilov’s portfolio consists of him setting up and running media organisations, as well as in shaping and implementing diverse business operations and strategies.

As COO, Trefilov will also overlook corporate finance, legal, internal procedures and strategic communication, as well as finance reporting of regional offices in Malaysia and Vietnam.

“It’s a great honour for me to be a part of an outstanding team of professionals. Keeping the high pace of the company’s growth both in media and new crypto business, I am excited to fine-tune and amplify the business processes to strengthen the company’s position in the Southeast Asian market,” said Trefilov.
