Mead Johnson Nutrition Hong Kong has appointed Chloe Ko as marketing director for Hong Kong and cross border.
Ko was previously working with British multinational consumer goods company Reckitt for about 10 years. Her last position at the company was marketing director, Hong Kong and cross border from November 2020 to October 2021. Prior to this position, Ko was associate marketing director from January 2020 to November 2020, according to her LinkedIn. Ko also oversaw the Taiwanese market, in addition to her native Hong Kong market, in the earlier stage of her tenure at Reckitt.
Before Reckitt, Ko worked at Johnson & Johnson as brand manager for almost five years.
Mead Johnson Nutrition recently won the Silver award for the Best PR Campaign – Sustainability category at MARKETING-INTERACTIVE's PR Awards. To encourage Hong Kong citizens to lead greener lives, Mead Johnson launched the "We CAN Protect the Future" formula cans recycling programme in 2021. Created in partnership with HKTVmall and the World Green Organisation, the programme was aimed at raising awareness among the public on the importance of recycling and urging parents to safeguard the future of their children by taking immediate actions to protect the environment and be the role models of green living.
The programme allowed consumers to access a reliable channel for recycling their used formula cans at the six collection points at HKTVmall's shops across the city. The World Green Organisation also offered expert guidance and insights to ensure all collected cans are properly handled and recycled.
To ensure proper storage and transportation of all collected cans, all cans were transported by a specialised delivery team to a local recycling plant. The cans were then destructed and shipped to another facility for further processing. Molten metal will be recycled into raw metal materials for different purposes. Over 1,500 clean formula cans were collected within 20 days. The company said it was also planning to launch the second phase of the programme to encourage the public to build recycling habits, and hence create a cleaner, healthier world together.
