
McDonald’s publishes a love story series to celebrate a burger's return

McDonald’s has put ads on the front page of a local newspaper as a prelude to the return of shogun with egg burger, sparking hot discussions among Hong Kong people. Celebrating the burger's 10th anniversary, McDonald’s put an a full page ad on Headline Daily's front page on 29 August, reading "thank you for your love over the past 10 years". Meanwhile the public started talking about the ad. The ad and social posts, published on the following day, revealed the secret behind the love story -Shogun (general) and Tamago (egg), signifying the return of the signature burger. In addition to the ads on newspaper and the TVC, McDonald's has been publishing an episode a day on its official Facebook page until 6 September to keep customers warm and tell the love story.
