McCann Worldgroup APAC president Charles Cadell to step down

President of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific Charles Cadell (pictured left) is stepping down from his role at the end of this year. He will be replaced by Alex Lubar (pictured right), CEO of McCann London. Marketing understands Cadell will be staying on with the network in a different role.

In a statement to Marketing, McCann Worldgroup’s spokesperson said: “It should be no surprise that McCann Worldgroup always looks for career opportunities for our best people and when Cadell approached chairman and CEO Harris Diamond about the idea of transitioning from his regional role over the next year, Lubar was the obvious choice.” The spokesperson said Lubar will be relocating to the region before the end of the year.

Cadell joined McCann Worldgroup in 2011 as regional managing director, Southeast Asia and Australasia, based in Singapore. Slightly more than a year after, he was promoted to president of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific in 2012, according to his LinkedIn. In 2016, Cadell relocated to Tokyo to take on additional responsibilities as president and CEO of McCann Worldgroup Japan. Before joining McCann Worldgroup, Cadell was CEO for Lowe Lintas India, where he served since 2008. He also worked at Arc Worldwide and Leo Burnett.

Meanwhile, Lubar has been the CEO of McCann London for more than three years. Prior to that, he served as the agency’s global CMO, as well as CMO of McCann North America. Lubar also worked at Grey and BBH.
