Maxis launches new prepaid offering

Maxis launched #HotlinkMaxis has launched #Hotline, the first prepaid plan that offers customers free internet, aimed at widening access to the internet with the "always connected" experience. Dushyan Vaithiyanathan (pictured left), head of consumer business of Maxis, said this plan represents a new category of mobile internet usage, which eliminates the current high entry barrier since there are absolutely no pay-per-use charges.SingTel brings HungyGoWhere to local shoresSingaporean food website, HungryGoWhere has launched into the local market. The move is part of a plan by its new owner SingTel to expand to other parts of Asia and Australia following its acquisition last year. The website provides reviews and recommendations of eateries submitted by the general public. In the next phase, it plans to incorporate personalised recommendations which suggest places to eat based on user's search and dining habits.Most Malaysians can't travel without gadgetsSmartphones are most popular gadgets for Malaysian travellers and nine out of 10 Malaysians can't travel without their gadgets. This is according to Visa's Global Travel Intentions Study 2013. Phones are the top choice as a holiday companion, followed by cameras (78%), computers (54%) and entertainment devices (21%). Gadgets are used to find essential information and easily share their travel experiences with friends and family.
