Maxis has expanded its enterprise solutions offerings with the new Maxis e-commerce solution, which specially targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia to build, amplify and optimise their e-commerce presence.
The new solution also aims to help SMEs maximise their revenue potential from within and outside Malaysia. The services are supported by a dedicated e-commerce team, which will assist with webstore setup, digital marketing, as well as insights and analytics. The telco will also have a dedicated e-commerce business manager to partner with customers throughout the development life cycle.
The expansion into e-commerce was amplified by Maxis’ acquisition of web development company Optima Innovations earlier this month. A few Malaysian retail brands that Optima has worked with to boost their e-commerce presence include Sen Heng, Bata and GNC Live Well, among others.
Senthil Balan Danapalan, Maxis’ head of business development said Southeast Asia is seeing rapid growth in e-commerce and Malaysia is one of the most attractive and matured markets for this segment in the region.
“We believe SMEs are recognising the immense amount of opportunities out there, as an online presence will enable them to stay relevant to hyper-connected consumers,” he said.
Danapalan added that Maxis’ acquisition and integration of Optima into its e-commerce team is “timely” and a “bold step forward” for the telco. “We expect to continue to grow our team to scale towards driving our enterprise offerings as an end-to-end solutions provider, and our ambition to be a leading eCommerce enabler in the country,” he added.
