Maxis expands its 360° film series

Gading Merah, created by filmmaker Junad Mohd Nor, is the latest film of Maxis Rojak 360°, which was released on Maxis’ YouTube channel. Nor’s film is the fourth film to be premiered using cutting edge 360° cameras which can be viewed on any ordinary smartphone via YouTube.

The film follows the three 360 films premiered earlier in August by other homegrown storytellers. These include YouTube superstars The Ming Thing and Red People and Tamil hit movie directors Veedu. These films were released on YouTube on 26 August.

To celebrate Merdeka and Malaysia Day this year, Maxis worked with YouTube and multiple homegrown award-winning storytellers to create Maxis Rojak 360°. The project is a celebration of the country’s colourful diversity - highlighting uniqueness of local dialects, celebrating little-known cultural traditions, and showcasing the beauty of different corners of Malaysia. It invites audience to move their phones around in all directions to "See Malaysia from all angles".
