The Walt Disney Company-owned Marvel has elevated its president Kevin Feige (pictured) to take on the added remit of chief creative officer.
An article on CNBC said as chief creative officer, Feige will have control of Marvel’s content across publishing, film, TV and animation. Feige was the brains behind Marvel Cinematic Universe and produced blockbuster film Avengers: Endgame. The hype around the film was further pushed by The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia with a digital campaign.
Working with Posterscope and partnering dentsu X Singapore, The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia displayed the film’s showtimes on digital screens at bus stops across the country in April this year. Backed by extensive marketing, the film brought in a whopping US$1.2 billion at the worldwide box office for its opening, according to Disney, and managed to surpass James Cameron's Avatar.
In addition to the recent success of Spider-Man movies, Feige will also be working on a third Spider-Man film. This comes after Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Walt Disney Studios patched up on new co-financing terms. According to Feige on the return of Spider-Man to Marvel Universe, he said that Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe.
