Marriott’s global marketing officer Karin Timpone is leaving the company at the end of this year to pursue new opportunities.
Timpone joined Marriott International in 2013. During her tenure, she launched Marriott Bonvoy, a loyalty programme of the campaign launched in February 2019, and led the company to invest resources in building content to engage customers, including the Marriott Bonvoy Traveler online magazine.
According to various sources, during her tenure in the company, the company grew its loyalty membership to 135 million members.
Adweek cited a statement over her departure, saying that Timpone had been “transforming Marriott’s marketing capabilities, introducing next-generation marketing technologies, cutting-edge marketing partnerships and travel storytelling”.
Speaking of her departure, she said: “I am so grateful to have led a central initiative within Marriott’s transformation. Having completed the Marriott Bonvoy launch with key marketing benchmarks ahead of estimates, this a perfect time for me to thoughtfully plan my next move.”
