Marriott International’s loyalty platform Marriott Bonvoy has partnered with Bank Mandiri to introduce the Marriott Bonvoy Mandiri Credit Card, marking a first for both brands in Southeast Asia’s rapidly expanding travel and lifestyle market.

The launch represents Marriott Bonvoy’s first co-branded credit card in Southeast Asia and Bank Mandiri’s first partnership with a global hospitality group. Positioned at the intersection of financial services and travel, the collaboration aims to turn everyday spending into travel rewards while strengthening both brands’ foothold in Indonesia’s growing consumer economy.

The card gives Indonesian customers direct access to Marriott Bonvoy’s global network of over 30 hotel brands across more than 10,000 destinations, alongside perks including bonus points, Elite status, and travel-related privileges.

“With more than 86 properties across the archipelago and projections to add another 30 more by 2030, Indonesia is one of our fastest-growing markets in Asia Pacific,” said John Toomey, chief commercial officer, Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC). “The launch of the Marriott Bonvoy Mandiri Credit Card marks a significant milestone in enriching our engagement with Indonesian travellers, giving them easy access to our properties in Indonesia and beyond through everyday spend.”

For Bank Mandiri, the partnership reflects a broader push to embed financial services into lifestyle ecosystems, particularly as Indonesian consumers increasingly prioritise travel and experiential spending.

“This initiative reinforces the integration of Bank Mandiri’s ecosystem and accelerates the delivery of value-added financial solutions that enable customers to maximise their everyday transactions into a wide range of rewards, while supporting more efficient and measured expense management,” said Henry Panjaitan, vice president director of Bank Mandiri.

He added that the collaboration is expected to deepen engagement across Mandiri’s consumer banking ecosystem by aligning financial products more closely with lifestyle needs and improving reward accumulation efficiency.

“We’re always looking for meaningful ways to help our members travel better and experience more. Bank Mandiri’s scale and strong reputation makes it the perfect partner to connect us more deeply with guests in Indonesia, delivering greater value and premium lifestyle solutions to customers,” said Ramesh Jackson, regional vice president, Indonesia and Malaysia, Marriott International.

Turning daily spend into travel rewards

The Marriott Bonvoy Mandiri Credit Card is designed for aspirational travellers, offering a suite of incentives tied to spending behaviour. New cardholders receive 5,000 welcome bonus points and automatic Silver Elite status, with the opportunity to earn a Free Night Award worth up to 20,000 points upon meeting initial spending thresholds.

Additional benefits include accelerated points earning – up to 5x on eligible transactions such as international spend, airfare, and Marriott Bonvoy hotel stays – alongside monthly bonus points tied to spending milestones. Cardholders can also unlock Gold Elite status after meeting annual spend requirements, granting perks such as room upgrades and late checkouts.

Beyond travel rewards, the card integrates into Mandiri’s digital ecosystem via the Livin’ by Mandiri app, enabling QRIS payments, virtual card usage, instalment options, and cash access features. Lifestyle perks such as unlimited airport and merchant lounge access across Indonesia further position the card as a premium offering.

Capturing a growing travel economy

The partnership underscores a broader trend: the convergence of banking, loyalty, and travel ecosystems. As Indonesian consumers increasingly seek seamless, rewards-driven experiences, co-branded financial products are becoming a strategic lever for both customer acquisition and retention.

For Marriott Bonvoy, the move signals a deeper commitment to Indonesia as a high-growth market within Asia Pacific. For Bank Mandiri, it reinforces its ambition to evolve beyond traditional banking into an integrated lifestyle platform.

Applications for the card are now open through Bank Mandiri’s digital channels and nationwide network, as both companies look to capitalise on rising demand for travel-linked financial products.
