Manulife Hong Kong has launched a health voucher charity programme to offer free healthcare services for underprivileged families.

In collaboration with Christian Family Service Centre (CFSC), the programme provides a comprehensive and flexible range of services to low-income families from five districts, including Kwun Tong, the Eastern district, Sham Shui Po, Tin Shui Wai, along with Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing.

Based on the results of checkups, registered nurses or dietitians will provide up to 2,000 beneficiaries with medical advice and Manulife-sponsored health vouchers. With these vouchers, beneficiaries can choose the most suitable option from a range of services such as general practice consultation, physiotherapy, body checks, nutrition consultation, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and dental care.

The services are provided through CFSC and four other charitable organisations including Yan Chai Hospital Board, Po Leung Kuk, United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service and HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre.

"By working with CFSC, we are able to relieve the burden of medical expenses for low-income families, and instill a mindset of preventive healthcare that is fundamental to people’s health and wellbeing. Our efforts can offer beneficiaries the flexibility and convenience of using healthcare support they need without worrying about finances,” said Isabella Lau, chief customer officer of Manulife Hong Kong.

"We share Manulife Hong Kong's commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community, developing primary healthcare services and building a healthy city. We hope that by combining our capabilities and strengths, we can support underprivileged families, especially their household pillars, to protect their health through early intervention and preventive measures," commented Kwok Lit-tung, chief executive of CFSC.
