24-hour TV channel on consumerism to launch in 2015

TV Guide, the first digital television station on the concept of consumerism, will broadcast for 24 hours in the major shopping malls and public spots across Malaysia in January 2015 .Quoted on BH Online, chief executive officer of TV Guide Azmi Mohd Noor said the television station will share information on the development of consumerism through various programs and activities. These activities will be in the form of entertainment and advertising. Noor stated that Consumer TV, with its theme of “Consumer Information Media”, would be aired in two languages. It would start with the topics of consumerism at 7am and run until 11am. After this, a consumer guide segment will air from 11am to 3pm.“The consumer product segment which markets quality products will be from 3pm to 7pm and the consumer destination segment which discusses tourist spots in the country will be from 8pm to midnight. From midnight to 6am, we will screen a programme with local celebrities,” said Noor according to The Free Malaysia Today.Shopping guides and consumer complaint tips will also be inserted.The channel first began operations in September on www.tvpengguna.com. It can be accessed via an app called TV Pengguna. The Free Malaysia Today article also stated that the privately owned station has the support of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry in providing information and advertising.
