Malaysia Airports sees 2.0% yoy growth in passenger movements for September

The network of airports under Malaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB) saw a 2.0% growth in passenger movements to 10.8 million from September 2017 to 2018. Domestic passenger movements increased by 2.0% to 5.7 million while international passenger movements jumped 2.1% to 5.1 million.According to the Bursa filing, airports in Malaysia registered 7.7 million passenger movements in September 2018, a 1.3% year-on-year growth. International sector recorded 4.0 million passenger movements with a 0.9% increase while domestic sector recorded 3.8 million passengers, an increase of 1.6%.KLIA saw a 0.8% drop to 4.6 million passengers in September this year. International passenger movements dropped by 1.4% to 3.3 million while domestic passenger movements increased by 0.8% to 1.27 million.KLIA Main Terminal and klia2 passengers declined by 0.9% and 0.8%. The last-twelve month passenger movements for KLIA Main Terminal recorded 28.1 million passengers a decline of 0.4% while klia2 increased by 8.7% with 31.8 million passenger movements over the same period last year.Meanwhile, 16 airlines experienced double-digit growth in September 2018 for international passenger movements and 20 airlines for the third quarter of 2018. This includes Air China, Air Seoul, Batik Air, China Southern Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Indonesia AirAsia, Jeju Air, Jin Air, Lucky Air, Mahan Air, Nepal Air, Philippine Airlines, Saudi Arabian, Shanghai Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Thai Smile Airways, Tiger Airways, US Bangla Airlines and Vietnam Airlines.
