Feeling auspicious this Lunar New Year? DBS' latest marketing stunt for Chinese New Year has the bank creating specially configured ATMs to allow customers to cash out crisp new notes.
The bank will be setting up 29 pop-up DBS/POSB ATMs in 10 community clubs across Singapore. Its customers will be able to withdraw new notes from these ATMs, and also at 58 SingPost branches in Singapore. Last year, the bank also ran this initiative, but at only six SingPost locations.
Jeremy Soo, managing director and head of consumer banking Group (Singapore), DBS Bank, said that the Lunar New Year season is a cherished time for customers and their families and loved ones. Hence, the bank wanted “to ensure that banking with DBS during this busy season will be as simple and fuss-free as possible.”
“To celebrate this festive season, we are also introducing an array of innovative and meaningful digital offerings in the hope that they can help strengthen community ties and bring people closer together,” said Soo.
The bank is also providing innovative digital ways to celebrate Lunar New Year. DBS PayLah!, which is a mobile wallet, also has introduced an “eAng Bao” feature which lets users send money via eAng Baos to those who have loved ones travelling.
DBS will also be introducing DBS Joyous Moments, an online social tool where consumers can send tailored e-calendar invites to ensure that the holidays will be well-spent with family and friends. This service will soon be rolled out across four markets - Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
