



Liverpool hosts open training session ahead of HK friendly against AC Milan

Liverpool Football Club (LFC)'s players will hold a training session in Hong Kong tomorrow ahead of their friendly match against AC Milan at the new Kai Tak Stadium this Saturday.
The group touched down in the city on Monday, marking Liverpool FC’s first appearance in the city in eight years, with the team last playing in Hong Kong in 2017. During their stay, the team will balance training commitments with commercial obligations, further strengthening their ties to the region.
Upon arrival at the Rosewood Hotel, the 29-man squad, led by manager Arne Slot, was met by a group of enthusiastic supporters. Following a brief settling-in period, the players took a walk along Victoria Harbour, staying active after their long flight while engaging with local residents.

On Thursday evening, Liverpool will hold a pre-match press conference, followed by an open training session at the Kai Tak Sports Park. The team will then face AC Milan in a friendly on Saturday at 7:30 pm. AC Milan is expected to arrive in Hong Kong on Thursday afternoon. After the match, Liverpool will travel to Japan to play Yokohama F. Marinos on 30 July.
The 10-day Asia tour during the 2025 pre-season features a 29-man squad, including all major new signings such as German international Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez.

Beyond the Liverpool FC and AC Milan match, the "Hong Kong Football Festival 2025" at the Kai Tak Stadium will feature another match featuring Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur on 31 July, alongside open training sessions from the participating teams.
To celebrate this football spectacle, Kai Tak Sports Park has launched an immersive carnival, blending team merchandise and interactive football activities.
As part of the celebrations, Kai Tak Mall has unveiled the first-ever Liverpool FC Official Standalone Store in Hong Kong, featuring the special appearance by Liverpool FC legends, mascot photo-taking sessions, and trophy showcase. Meanwhile, exclusive limited-edition jerseys, autographed merchandise, and various Hong Kong exclusive items will also be available.
From 24 July, the Football Viva Fest will take place at Dining Cove next to Kai Tak Stadium. It will feature around 20 themed booths showcasing official merchandise, as well as team interaction zones.
Other highlights include a brand-new sports bar, a football-themed concept store, a series of exclusive partnership merchandise, post-match food options, and special offers.
