LG Electronics has appointed former vice president of Olay Greater China Hyoeun Kim for its global marketing centre.

Kim began her career with P&G in 1999 and developed her brand-building expertise in multiple countries, including Greater China, the US, Singapore, Japan and South Korea, gaining experience working across eight different brands such as Olay, SK-II, Head & Shoulders, Swisse Vitamin and Wella.

She was most recently vice president of Olay Greater China from June 2016. According to her LinkedIn, she transformed the total brand building to grow brand equity; led the brand vision, innovation strategy and product innovation development; and developed and grew end-to-end organisation with competitive capability.

She also worked for the company in Singapore for about five years, leading foundational work for Swisse expansion in Asia; developing and directing media strategy for P&G in APAC, Japan and South Korea; as well as planning and executing a new media model.

Kim was also responsible for the "Fearless of Age" Olay campaign with creative partner Grey Hong Kong, which relayed Olay's brand belief and purpose beyond just being a superior skincare product. The campaign championed the belief that what defines a woman's age is not her number of years spent on earth, but the content of her fearless stories. It featured a number of influencers and celebrities to share their stories.

"I appreciate the time I spent at P&G, where I gained deep consumer-centric brand building experience, especially in the beauty category," said Kim.

"I am now ready to take on a new challenge and looking forward to working with a world-renowned, premier Korean brand LG Electronics. It is an honour for me to be a part of this journey," she added.
