Jesslynn Ng, assistant director of marketing communications at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, is stepping down from her role after three years, with her last day being 30 September. Ng (pictured) first joined in 2018 and also took on the dual role of managing PR and marketing communications as part of the task force team ahead of the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur at the end of 2019, her LinkedIn said. During her time at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, she developed and oversaw the execution of communication plans for the hotel's products and services while managing the annual marketing and communications budget.
Ng told A+M that it was a very tough decision for her because she has grown close to the team at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, who have been very wonderful and friendly. "But this opportunity only comes once in a lifetime and it is an exciting one," she said. Ng will be joining an upcoming Singapore-branded five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur to oversee marketing and communications but declined to reveal additional details. A+M understands that Le Méridien has yet to name her replacement.
According to Ng, she was the sole individual on her team during the pandemic but was supervising a team of three pre-COVID. According to her, the pandemic pushed her to think on her feet and out of the box. "It was tough. There were plenty of unforeseen situations but I am proud of helping the hotel navigate through this pandemic," she explained.
Before Le Méridien, Ng was with The Ascott Limited as cluster marketing communications manager for two years. During her time there, she oversaw the marketing communications efforts of all properties by The Ascott Limited in Malaysia, her LinkedIn said. Prior to that, she was assistant PR manager at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
