Lee Choong Khay, former head of sport at Astro, has joined Eclat Media Group's SPOTV as its CEO. In his new role, Lee (pictured) will relocate to Singapore where he will manage SPOTV's pay TV as well as its digital and sports. Lee will be reporting to Eclat Media Group's CEO, Mitchell Hong.

SPOTV currently runs two regional sports channels, SPOTV and SPOTV2. These channels are distributed across territories in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Macau, and Mongolia. According to Lee, he views his new role as an opportunity and a challenge to develop SPOTV as one of the key sporting platforms in the region. Lee added that he is aware of SPOTV being a top sports platform in South Korea, and he would be developing it by incorporating his own experience. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Eclat Media Group for additional information regarding Lee's role.

With more than 20 years of experience under his belt, Hong said Lee is a leader in the sports business of Greater Southeast Asia, and is one of the best in the market. "With his depth of experience in many aspects of the sports industry, Eclat Media Group is very confident that Lee will be able to lead and grow this company from a pay-TV and digital media platform into the ultimate sports destination for the Asian sports fan," Hong explained.

Following Lee's departure, Astro named executive producer Nicholas John as its VP and head of sports. In his new role, John reports to director of content, Agnes Rozario. According to his LinkedIn, John will be leading the strategy and operations for local and international sports content on Astro. John first joined Astro in July 2010 where he helmed the senior sports producer role for more than four years. Afterwhich, he helmed the executive producer role in July 2014 for more than five years. As an executive producer, John was responsible for leading the sports production team in content creation for TV and digital.
