KAWS reunites with Sesame Street for new figure collection

KAWS has joined forces with globally beloved Sesame Street to launch a new figure collection ahead of the upcoming water parade in Hong Kong, in partnership with creative brand AllRightsReserved (ARR).

The new KAWS & Sesame Street figure collection marks the highly anticipated reunion between the artist and Sesame Workshop’s beloved characters following their first collaboration in 2018.

The KAWS & Sesame Street figure collection features Elmo, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, and Oscar the Grouch, reimagined in KAWS’s signature style. Each Sesame Street character takes the form of an iconic pose from a past KAWS figure, bringing them into the artist’s ever-expanding visual world. This highly collectible series is an unmissable highlight for fans and collectors alike. The collection will be available to purchase as individual toys or as a full set.

The collection will be available for worldwide pre-orders starting at 11am on 16 October, exclusively on the DDT Store online platform. Shipping will begin in end-November 2025. With limited quantities, all items will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while stock lasts.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to ARR for more information.

The partnership comes ahead of the highly anticipated Water Parade, which runs from 25 October to 1 November, featuring four inflatable sculptures forming a dream fleet to parade across the harbour, including Doraemon; KAWS & Sesame Street (Elmo); Grimace and LABUBU.

At the same time, an eight-day Water Parade market will be staged along the Central and Western District Promenade Central Section (near Tamar Park) from 25 October to 1 November, blending pop-up shops, themed food and beverages and entertainment experiences to become one of the season’s most popular cultural happenings.

In addition to Doraemon, KAWS & Sesame Street, and Grimace featured in the parade, even more international IPs will join, including Netflix’s film “KPop Demon Hunters”, Netflix Originals “Stranger Things Season 5” and “Squid Game”; Snoopy and the Peanuts characters from the globally beloved comic strip, who is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year; as well as Hong Kong’s classic TOLO Founding Duck, marking its 40th anniversary.

KAWS last came to Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour in March 2019 with a 37-metre inflatable sculpture called "COMPANION" for the KAWS:HOLIDAY project. Previously staged in Seoul and Taipei, KAWS:HOLIDAY's Hong Kong appearance coincided with the city's annual Arts Month celebration. A series of limited-edition collectables were also created for KAWS:HOLIDAY in collaboration with ARR, including a limited soft toys pack, bath toys, floating beds, a “Hong Kong Stop” T-Shirt, and a tote bag.
