Change in global management for JWT

JWT has appointed Gustavo Martinez as global president and future successor to Bob Jeffrey, the current worldwide chairman and CEO of JWT. Martinez will join JWT in February 2014 and report to Jeffrey.

All global discipline leads and regional leads will report directly to Martinez (pictured left). Martinez joins JWT from McCann Worldgroup, where he was president, Europe and Asia. Prior to McCann, Martinez also held several senior management positions, including global director of global brand management and global new business director of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide.

His previous posts included Latin America regional chief operating officer, and Latina South region president, Ogilvy & Mather Argentina. He also held various positions with Saatchi & Saatchi and served as head of the McCann Erickson Communications Group in Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey(pictured right) will continue as Worldwide CEO through 2014. Martinez will assume the role of worldwide CEO in 2015 when Jeffrey will become non-executive chairman.

“Over the past few years Gustavo and I have cultivated a relationship of mutual admiration and respect. He is passionate about the business, devoted to clients and understands that the key asset of the business is the caring, nurturing and understanding of its people. Gustavo Martinez is the future of JWT,” Jeffrey added.
