Video technology company JW Player has launched its Singapore office, expanding its business across the APAC region. The Singapore office is the company’s third international office alongside London and Eindhoven. According to a press release, JW Player’s expansion to Singapore comes after the success of its European expansion. The Singapore office will look to "provide more specialised support" for the APAC media companies and brands that JW Player works with. With its "increased focus" and in-region team, the company is said to be looking to accelerate its growth in the APAC region. JW Player has hired Marc Irwin as head of APAC to lead its new Singapore office. Irwin brings years of experience leading media, advertising, and technology companies into the APAC region. He most recently served as head of APAC expansion for advertising platform Adyoulike and previously led Outbrain’s supply-side expansion into Asia. Dave Otten, co-founder and CEO of JW Player said it is “thrilled” to bring Irwin onboard to lead its expansion in the APAC region and “better serve” its “growing” client base. “We’re seeing tremendous growth in video content, consumption and advertising across the world, and the Asia-Pacific region is no exception. We look forward to becoming a true partner for companies around the region by leveraging our proven and flexible video technology platform,” he added. “I’m thrilled to join JW Player. With purpose-built solutions such as OTT, built in recommendations, and contextual article matching, JW Player continues to push the boundaries for digital video,” said Irwin.
