JPM picks agency for K-Pop concert

JPM Music, the local organiser of K-Pop group TVXQ! (pictured), has appointed MediaBond as its public relations (PR) agency, effective end of February.

MediaBond is tasked to handle PR duties for the TVXQ! Live Virtual Catch Me concert happening in Kuala Lumpur this May. The concert is part of TVXQ!’s 10th anniversary celebration and come back after a three-year hiatus.

MediaBond will hunt for publicity, develop hype before and during the concert to fans, bring in and chaperone foreign and local entertainment media.

JPM Music’s sister company JPM Motor worked with MediaBond with the Japan Super GT in Sepang last June.

“The appointment was made because they understand the PR angle we want to achieve and on top of that, MediaBond has strong relationship with the media,” said Alicia Lo, general manager, JPM Music.

Syed Mohammad Idid, chief engagement officer, MediaBond PR, said, although this is its first entertainment industry-related account, the agency has the network connection and know how to go about getting coverage, in terms of media relations landscape.

MediaBond will also manage two more K-Pop groups that will make their debut in Malaysia later this year.

Previously, the public relations account was handled by Ink Sports PR and Publications.
