JOOX refines karaoke experience through latest feature

Tencent's music streaming platform JOOX has launched a number of functions to engage users this year. As users are staying home more often amid the pandemic, the platform has recently rolled out a feature, allowing users to sing and dance to the chorus.

The latest addition "Quick Sing" allows users to pre-select each song’s chorus parts, letting users focus on the songs’ most exciting sections in their videos and allowing them to showcase their creative dance moves along with their favourite tunes.

To enhance the experience, JOOX will also create various "Quick Sing" challenges from time to time, such as popular songs To Be Young by Anne-Marie (ft. Doja Cat) and My Oh My by Camila Cabello (ft. DaBaby), to keep music lovers engaged.

“With JOOX, karaoke is now an all-round entertainment and interactive experience that goes beyond just singing," said Poshu Yeung, vice president of Tencent IBG.

JOOX has also invited renowned singers to feature in Quick Sing, such as K-Pop boy bands ONF and NU’EST, along with singers Jam Hsiao and JJ Lin, to perform on JOOX with Quick Sing.

JOOX has also observed some interesting trends this year. From February to July, JOOX saw a 30% increase in karaoke users across Asian markets such as Hong Kong and Macau, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand.

Overall, JOOX has grown exponentially since its launch in 2015 with a recorded increase of 533% in 2019 in terms of the number of users across Asia.

"JOOX has always strived to fulfill the emerging demand for karaoke with the introduction of the new 'Quick Sing' feature, offering users more opportunities to interact with family and friends," Yeung said.

"This is made even more special today when most music fans, especially the younger ones, yearn for more entertainment activities while staying at home amid the pandemic, which include creating short videos to showcase their dancing and music talents.”
