Java Jazz 2026 taps Bluebird, TransJakarta and KAI Bandara for integrated transport push

Ahead of the Java Jazz Festival, one of Indonesia’s most celebrated annual music festivals, organiser Java Festival Production has partnered with transportation providers including Bluebird Group, TransJakarta’s Royaltrans service, and KAI Bandara to launch a dedicated shuttle network for festivalgoers and workers.

The initiative comes as the festival prepares for its move to Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) PIK 2, where it will take place from 29 to 31 May 2026, as the organiser looks to improve accessibility and ease congestion through integrated transport services.

“In addition to presenting world-class music performances, we also want to ensure that the journey to and from the festival can be experienced comfortably, not only by visitors but also by event workers, by providing special transportation services to the festival location,” said Dewi Gontha, president director of Java Festival Production.

The 2026 edition of Java Jazz Festival marks its 21st instalment, with Bank Central Asia’s myBCA serving as the festival’s main sponsor.

Ahead of the festival, Java Festival Production also hosted a Bus Tour Experience, where COO Inge Bachrens outlined the various transportation services being prepared for the event.

Under the arrangement, Bluebird Group will provide free shuttle services directly to NICE PIK 2 from several locations across Jakarta, including Lippo Mall Kemang, Plaza Senayan, fX Sudirman, and Sarinah Thamrin. The round-trip services will operate exclusively during the festival period from 29 to 31 May.

Cititrans, also part of Bluebird Group, will additionally operate direct routes from Bandung to NICE PIK 2, with departure points at Dipati Ukur, Cihampelas Walk, and Pasteur.

Meanwhile, Royaltrans by TransJakarta will offer shuttle routes from several strategic points including Dukuh Atas, Cilandak Town Square (CITOS), Alam Sutera, Gambir, TMII, Tanjung Duren, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station. These services will run on 30 and 31 May.

To further support mobility for out-of-town attendees, KAI Bandara will extend the operating hours of its BNI City Station to Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station route during the festival period. Additional Royaltrans shuttle connections between the airport station and NICE PIK 2 will also be available.

Complete route details, schedules, and seat reservation procedures will be released through the festival’s official channels.

This year’s festival is set to feature an expansive entertainment lineup spanning international and Indonesian acts. Artists scheduled to perform include Jon Batiste, Ella Mai, Daniel Caesar, and wave to earth, alongside acts such as Dave Koz, Incognito, Thee Sacred Souls, and Indonesian performers including Mahalini, Maliq & D'Essentials, RAN, Slank, and Yura Yunita.

With 10 stages and dozens of performances planned each day, the organiser is also incorporating art installations into the festival grounds as part of its wider experiential offering.

Established in 2005, Java Jazz Festival has grown into one of Asia’s largest jazz and music festivals, regularly attracting global performers and audiences from across the region.
