IPG Mediabrands has appointed Ben Kwan as its CEO for Hong Kong and Taiwan, effective from 6 April. He will be based in Taipei and report to Leigh Terry, CEO of IPG Mediabrands APAC.
Kwan will be making the move from his current role of managing director and board member at GroupM, Zurich, Switzerland, where he has led the digital transformation of the agency over the past six years, including the acquisition and merger of Quisma Switzerland.
"Kwan is an entrepreneurial leader who has demonstrated the ability to harness the collective potential of a team to transform a business model and organisation. His hands-on experience in building world-class capabilities across China and internationally blends a deep technology know-how with a business-savvy growth mindset. It's the reason for appointing him to lead both the Hong Kong and Taiwan markets," said Terry.
With a career that has spanned across the US, China, and Europe, Kwan possesses extensive marketing and technology industry experience across the automotive, technology, luxury, FMCG, healthcare, consumer packaged goods, entertainment, and banking sectors.
Speaking of his new position, Kwan commented, “Together with the IPG’s vision and Terry's future focus, I look forward to entering this new decade with IPG Mediabrands and bringing heightened levels of value to our advertisers.”
